Welcome to The Self Discovery Project

Welcome to The Self Discovery Project

If you have found your way here, it is likely because you are looking for a change. Perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed by the weight of the past, or maybe you are simply tired of the constant noise of overthinking and masking your true self just to get through the day.

I created The Self Discovery Project to be more than just a clinical practice. It is a space designed for deep, transformative work. My approach isn’t about simply “fixing” what is broken; it is about helping you understand the different parts of yourself and reclaiming a sense of safety and authentic connection in your life.

How I Work: A Specialist Approach

With my background as an Associate Professor and former University Doctoral Lead, my practice is grounded in the latest psychological research. However, I believe that high-level expertise must always be paired with genuine compassion. I specialise in several evidence-based therapies, including:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): A powerful tool for processing traumatic memories that feel stuck in the nervous system.
  • CBT & Trauma-Focused CBT: Helping you understand the relationship between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours to break negative cycles.
  • IFS (Internal Family Systems): A compassionate way of exploring the various parts of your personality to find inner harmony and clarity.

A Space for You in Stamford and Online

Whether we meet face-to-face in Stamford or connect via online therapy across Rutland and beyond, the goal remains the same: to provide a safe, non-judgemental environment where you can finally be heard.

I invite you to explore the site, learn more about the different therapeutic models I offer, and see if my approach resonates with you. Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, which is why I offer a free 20-minute consultation to discuss your needs and see how we might work together.

I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward self-discovery.

Warmly,
Trupti Popat
