Trauma Therapist Based in Melton Mowbray & Online

Specialist CBT, EMDR and IFS therapy in Melton Mowbray and across the UK for high functioning adults and ADHD minds who are tired of holding it all together and want to build self esteem, heal trauma and recover from burnout.

A home for overwhelmed adults who are ready to rediscover themselves.

Hello and welcome!

I’m Trupti Popat and I’m really glad you’re here. Many of the people I work with look like they have everything together on the outside. They are capable, caring, and used to pushing through for years. But underneath that, they are exhausted. Overthinking everything. Putting themselves last. Feeling disconnected from themselves or stuck in patterns they cannot seem to break.

Stress, trauma, low self esteem, ADHD and years of survival mode can deeply shape how we see ourselves, other people and the world. Over time, this can leave people feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, and stuck in patterns that are hard to break.

The Self Discovery Project exists to help make sense of these patterns from the root up, not just the surface. A space to slow down, feel understood, and reconnect with yourself again. If any of this resonates, I’d love to hear from you.

The Steps to Self Discovery

Free Consultation

I offer a free 20 minute consultation to explore your needs, answer any questions, and help you get a feel for whether we are a good fit. From there, we can begin therapy or look at other options if I am not the right person to support you.

Therapy Sessions

Sessions last 50 or 90 minutes and are tailored to you and your goals. Early on, we focus on understanding what you are going through and why, before moving towards change through building skills, reconnecting with different parts of yourself, processing trauma, or a combination of these.

Outcomes

Therapy can help you build self awareness, develop healthier ways of coping, feel calmer in your body and mind, and grow in confidence, so you can navigate life with more ease and control. You will also leave with a clear plan to maintain the progress you have made.

Frequently Asked Questions

The first session is really about us building the foundation of our work together. There is no pressure to have everything figured out or to tell your whole life story at once. We will talk about what brought you here, what you’re going through, what you hope to change, and how my approach can help you get there. It is a relaxed, informal space where you can ask me anything you like.

Yes, it is. Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions for most people. Working online allows you to be in your own comfortable, familiar environment, which can often help you feel more at ease. It also removes the stress of a commute, making it much easier to fit your mental health into a busy schedule.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer because everyone’s journey is different. Some people find that a few months of focused work helps them get back on track, while others prefer longer-term support to process deeper trauma or relational wounds. We will regularly check in to see how you are feeling and decide together what the best path forward is for you.

The fit between you and your therapist is one of the most important parts of the work, which is why I offer a free 20 minute consultation. It gives you a chance to meet me, see how comfortable you feel, and get a sense of how I can help, without any pressure to commit. If it feels right, we can move forward, and if not, I am happy to guide you towards other options.

Therapy is about understanding what is going on and why, so we can explore and work that out together. It is also common to notice some difficulties or patterns without realising it may be linked to trauma, low self esteem, or stress. You may notice that some of what’s been shared here aligns with you or the type of support you are after. The free initial consultation is a chance to explore that and see if we are a good fit, and we will continue to review how therapy is going throughout the journey.

Simple answer, no I don’t. I specialise in these areas which in themselves have vast rippling effects. So for example, they can be experienced as anxiety, relationship difficulties, depression, OCD, health anxiety, generalised anxiety, social anxiety, or even phobias. These are areas I love working with too. And even if trauma is behind it, we don’t have to go there if you’re not ready. We focus on your priorities in the present moment.

If there was ever an ideal space for therapy, Wellspring Hub in Melton Mowbray would be it. Conveniently located for clients travelling from Oakham/Rutland, Stamford, Nottingham, Grantham, Loughborough and surrounding areas. It offers a calm scenic drive, beautiful countryside views and none of the usual stress of finding parking. There is free parking right outside the building, which is the last one on your left as you enter the estate.

Inside, there is a spacious, aesthetic lounge area where you can wait before your session, with self serve drinks available and toilets on site. Both air conditioning and heating are available to ensure your visit is comfortable. There are also lovely little boutique shops and a café next door if you wanted to arrive early or take a moment afterwards. The therapy room itself is warm, quiet and private. Please note the therapy space is located upstairs and there is currently no lift access.
